Considering the number of songs banned and law suits against popular artists such as Diamond for what is considered indecent, by now you would think that bongo artist have borrowed one or two clues on how to behave.
Well, turns out not everyone was aware of the long arm of the moral police in Tanzania if Vanessa Mdee and her lover Juma Jux actions are anything to go by.
The two are in trouble with Tanzania’s Communication Regulatory Authority (BASATA) for posting the image of them kissing on social media.
After a thrilling performance during their ‘IN’ LOVE&MONEY’ tour across East Africa, their stage chemistry got the better of them and the two lovers could not resist sharing a romantic kiss in the presence of thousand who had attended the concert in Mwanza.
According to the commission’s Chief Executive Godfrey Mngereza, the couple acted in an indecent manner since they performed acts which should be restricted to the bedroom.
“Sasa huyu Jux na Vanessa hata kama ni wapenzi hawakutakiwa kufanya hayo waliyoonyesha jukwaani kwani kama ni mahaba mnatakiwa muonyeshane mkiwa faragha na siyo hadharani kama walivyofanya tunawafanyia kazi ili kukomesha tabia hizo,” said BASATA Chief Executive Geoffrey Mngereza.
It is not clear what action will taken against the artist and her lover but the commission has warned other artists from posting such photos on their social media insisting that they will hunt them down for the sake of upholding morality.
