More often, when we see celebrities on screen and tend to think that we actually know them in person. Their flashy lifestyles on social media can be decisive of the real picture.

Most of them, bow to the pressure of leading a perfect lifestyle that is very emotionally and financially stable.

However, that is not always the case. There is more than meets the eye. People decide to end their own lives due to various reasons.

In fact, according to World Health Organization, approximately seven hundred thousand people take their own lives annually.

Here is a list of some of the celebrities who have chosen to end their lives;

  1. Robin McLaurin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014)

Robin was an American actor and comedian. After rising to fame as an alien called Mork in the TV sci-fi sitcom series Mork & Mindy, Williams established a career in both stand-up comedy and feature film acting. He was known for his improvisational skills. On August 11, 2014, Williams died by suicide at his home in Paradise Cay, California.

  1. Tony Scott (21 June 1944 – 19 August 2012)

Scott was an English film director and producer. He was known for directing action and thriller films such as Top Gun (1986), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), True Romance (1993), Crimson Tide (1995), Enemy of the State (1998), Spy Game (2001), Déjà Vu (2006), and Unstoppable (2010).  On 19 August 2012, at approximately 12:30 pm. PDT, Scott killed himself by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the San Pedro port district of Los Angeles.

  1. Tim Bergling (8 September 1989 – 20 April 2018)

Bergling, better known by his stage name Avicii was a Swedish musician, DJ, remixer and record producer. Bergling died on April 20, 2018 near Muscat, Oman, at the age of 28. No cause of death was immediately given. However, On May 1, it was reported that the cause of death was a suicide due to self-inflicted injuries. Some sources claimed he had died of blood loss after cutting himself with broken glass from a wine bottle.

  1. Kate Spade (24 December 1962 – 5 June 2018)

Kate Brosnahan Spade, who created an iconic, accessible handbag line that bridged Main Street and high-end fashion, hanged herself in an apparent suicide Tuesday 5th at her Manhattan apartment. Spade's housekeeper found her in the bedroom of the designer's Park Avenue apartment. The source said she was hanged by a scarf and that a note was found at the scene. 

  1. Chris Benoit (21 May 1967 – 24 June 2007)

World famous WWE wrestler Chris Benoit committed suicide by hanging after strangling his wife to death and suffocating his 7-year-old son, Daniel. He was found hanging from his weight machine in the basement. The wrestler suffered from brain damage, which is said to be the cause for the double murder-suicide.

  1. Jonathan Gregory Brandis (April 13, 1976 – November 12, 2003)

Another member of the mystic club of 27, Jonathan committed suicide by hanging himself. Brandis was a young and up and coming actor who got some national recognition with his movie Never Ending Story II. His friends found him in his home, and they took him to a medical center, but it was too late for the young actor.

  1. Sawyer Sweeten (May 12, 1995 – April 23, 2015)

One of the youngest celebrities on the list, Sawyer is famous for his role as Geoffrey Barone, the son of Ray Barone in the mega popular sitcom, “Everybody loves Raymond”. However, despite the success of the sitcom, Sweeten was battling financial problems after the show ended. Many believe his financial troubles got the best of him, as Sawyer shot himself in the head.
