A Chania Executive bus on Friday, February 7, 2020, slid into the waterline while disembarking from the Kilindini ferry Mainland side.
According to the Kenya Ferry Services, the bus was moving from the ferry when it lost control and moved to the waterline.
“A Chania executive bus has lost control while disembarking from Kilindini ferry Mainland side sliding into the waterline,” said the ferry service.
The ferry management stated that the process of towing the bus was underway and that no injuries had been reported at the time.

They added that normal ferry operations had resumed.
“Towing process is underway. No injuries reported, Ferry operations back to normal” added the ferries’ service.
In October 2019, Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu drowned at the Likoni ferry channel after their car slipped off and sunk into the ocean.
