Acting Interior Security and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Mr. Fred Matiang'i has been given seven days’ notice to address the insecurity matters within Mt.Elgon constituency.
This follows the increased rampant killings witnessed in the area of which its motives have not been established so far.
The recent killings were witnessed January 12 three people were reportedly shot dead at Korng'otuny area of Cheptais sub-county. The identities of three deceased are yet to be disclosed after the immediate family members and police concluded the primary investigation.
Area residents led by politicians Mr. John Cheptai and Mr.Moss Ndiema said they are going to Marshall area residents to carry out mass demonstrations and prayers across the entire constituency on Friday, January 19 if the government through the CS will not have taken the necessary actions to restore Peace.
"We want to see the CS Matiang’i visiting the area to get the first-hand information on the said subject matter as soon as possible as the situation is worsening,” Mr. John Cheptai stressed.
