The two roadblocks at Nyali bridge – one on the island side and the other on the mainland side – should be removed because they are unnecessary.
The officers manning the roadblocks are there for money minting and nothing else.
The officers are there to harass motorists and extort money. They do not serve the intended purpose, which was to hunt and fight Al Shabaab militants. Roadblocks should only be mounted at border points or on the outskirts of towns.
