Panic and grief struck Kiptenden Village in Barut, Nakuru west Sub-county after a middle-aged man went berserk and stabbed a single mother of 3 leaving her bleeding to death following allegations that he attempted to rape her for the second time,Barut location Acting chief Gladys Orwasa Bett has confirmed.
Speaking at the scene, the Acting chief Bett said the accused Benard Rono aged 32 years went to the house of the deceased at around midnight and tried to rape her.
The Acting chief Bett said after the failed attempt, the assailant grabbed the kitchen knife of the deceased and stabbed her on the arm during the struggle that ensued as he dragged the deceased out of the house and stabbed her and started bleeding profusely.
‘The accused is said had raped the deceased who is a mother of 3 children aged between 3-7 years two years ago’’,said the chief.
The accused was arrested by administration police officers and members of the public and a shirt stained by blood and a knife found at a maize farm.

Body of deceased was removed to Nakuru county mortuary and accused locked at Kaptembwo police station awaiting to be arraigned in court.
