Tharaka Nithi, Kenya: Fifteen members of Ubarini PCEA church in Tharaka South sub-county have escaped death narrowly after the church building collapsed on Sunday.
Sources said the faithfuls had arrived for church service but immediately they started the sermon, walls of the building started collapsing.
They said worshipers felt a tremor of the building and before it started falling they had already escaped through doors and windows.
Nobody was injured in the incident that turned place of worship into a cinema scene.
Rev. Peter Gitonga said the building was poorly constructed seven years ago when the church started, saying bricks used to construct the building were not professionally made and that is why the building collapsed.
