Embu, Kenya: Embu County plans to register traditional healers in its annual music and cultural festivals.
However, the healers who include witch doctors, will all be classified as traditional herbalists and healers because the department of culture does not recognise witchdoctors.
County Cultural Officer Emily Ngari said they will let the traditional healers exhibit their healing aids, herbs and knowledge as a way of exposing them.
Ngari said the successful traditional healers at the county festivals will then participate in the national cultural festivals where they will be ranked and exposed.
