Nyeri,Kenya:A middle-aged man was yesterday arraigned before a Nyeri court charged with stealing a motor vehicle valued at Sh800,000.
Samuel Mosop, who appeared before Nyeri Resident Magistrate John Aringo, was charged that on June 8 within Nyeri town and in the company of another before the court, he stole a Toyota Station Wagon valued at Sh800,000 belonging to James Gichuki Mwai.
Prosecutor Rodah Kanyi applied for the accused to be remanded for three days at Nyeri Police Station for police to complete investigation.
However, the accused denied the charge and was released on a Sh500,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount.

The case will be heard on August 20, and mention will be on August 25, 2013.
In the same court, two men were charged with stealing 20 sheep valued at Sh100,000 belonging to Patrick Wambugu Mwaniki.
Richard Longolia and Mohammed Hassan also faced a second count of being in possession of stolen livestock and that on April 16 at Kabati in Kieni West they retained three stolen sheep.
