Fire razed down Githurai’s timber and furniture yard along Thika Road destroying property of unknown value in its wake.

Response teams were dispatched to battle the Monday morning inferno.

Residents say the fire started at around 4am in a furniture shop at Githurai and quickly spread to other stalls in the market.

Traders are counting losses from the fire whose cause is yet to be established. Some were however able to salvage few items from their shops.
