Real Betis have become the surprise front runners to sign Jack Wilshere in January.
Arsenal star Wilshere is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of the season with a new deal yet to be discussed.
The La Liga outfit have enquired about the possibility of bring the England international to Spain, with Wilshere rejected a move to West Ham in the summer to fight for his spot at he Emirates, according to the Sun.
Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth before a calf injury curtailed his stay and prevented him from taking part in a full pre-season.
He has played seven times this season but has only managed 13 minutes of Premier League action.
