Africa is ready to have a more united and stronger outfit to push for her global agenda.
House Speaker Kenneth Marende and the Pan African Parliament President Idriss Ndele Moussa have said for Africa to advocate her agenda strongly, it must become a federation — the United States of Africa.
Speaking when he paid Marende a courtesy call in Nairobi, Moussa emphasised the need for legislative powers of the Pan African Assembly to make regional governments to move close to integration.
Integration possible
Moussa said regional blocs such as EAC, Comesa, Saddc and Ecowas were indications that continental integration was possible.
"We need to make sure that Africa is stronger by bringing ourselves together and ensure we speak with one voice. Africa has been polarised by the West due to its disunity," he added.
Marende said Kenya wanted to build relations with the Chadian House where a delegation of some MPs from Kenya will visit the country. Chad Government will sponsor the trip.
Marende was also invited to give a keynote address in the Pan African Parliament in South Africa. He said despite the challenges of integration they were keen on ensuring its success.
Moussa was appointed President of Pan-African Parliament, which sits in Midrand, South Africa, lst month. He is the Chadian MP to the assembly.
Kenya has nominated MPs Rachael Shebesh, Musa Sirma, Gitobu Imanyara, Abdul Bahari and Gideon Mungaro to the Assembly.
