CORD leader Raila Odinga has claimed CS Anne Waiguru and IEBC Chair Issack Hassan were removed from EACC list and sought to have those behind the omission be held responsible.

Nairobi, Kenya: CORD leader Raila Odinga has renewed his push to have Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru and IEBC Chair Issack Hassan investigated over alleged corruption.

Friday, Raila named Waiguru and Hassan as some of the officials omitted in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission report that named over 175 government officials.

"We will not take the President seriously on the war on corruption until all (alleged) thieves are treated equally," said Raila.

"The law must apply on all scandals over IFMIS, NYS and IEBC in the same way it has happened in other ministries" he added.

Raila claimed that these officials among several others mentioned in the case involving a UK printing firm were being protected by the government.

“Your guess is as good as mine on why IEBC officials have to be protected. They delivered for Jubilee,” said Raila.

Raila also wants investigations done to reveal those behind the omission and that they be held responsible.

President Uhuru Kenyatta presented the disputed graft report to Parliament on March 26 during his State of the Nation address and ordered investigation of persons mentioned.
