A man was on Thursday night shot dead as his wife watched in a carjacking incident in Nairobi’s Dandora estate.  The couple who ran a chemist in Mowlem area were driving home in the crime prone estate when their car was hit from behind.

Police say when they stopped to establish what was happening, the occupants of the other car from behind stepped out and shot the 35-year-old man at close range killing him instantly.

They later threw the woman out of the car and took control of it and drove off. Nairobi Area Police boss Benson Kibui said the thugs hit the deceased’s car intentionally to enable them carjack it.

“Whenever you are hit from behind at night it is important that you drive to a police station and report there. These could be criminals out to get hold of you,” said Kibui.

He said the police are hunting down the gang.
