Lydia Tirop, a career advisor, says updating your CV gives you a chance to your latest achievements to the documents.
"Most employers and recruiters are prefer up-to-date CVs. Such CVs usually have favourable rating compared to those which do not contain the most current information," observes Tirop.
But Tirop warns that your career objective statement should be clearly stated on the CV, and it should reflect where you want your career to go.
Updating your CV also requires you to highlight your achievements, skills, interest and experience so as to entice your employer. Ask for an expert’s hand if you are unsure of what is expected.
"The rule of the thumb when writing a CV is to have it as current as possible. This means it should be done as often as possible. After all, different positions requires you to tailor make the CV to suit the requirements sought for," concludes Tirop.
