A Nairobi man shocked the court when he was brought before a Makadara court to face charges of grabbing a traffic cop's buttocks and shaking it while she was performing her duties.

Timothy Mule is accused of committing an indecent act by touching the police officer's buttocks without her consent at the Roasters Roundabout along the Thika Superhighway on July 21.

Additionally, he was charged with offensive conduct, as it is alleged that he deliberately shook the cop's buttocks with the intention of provoking a breach of peace.

The police officer, stationed in Kasarani, was managing traffic with some colleagues when Mulei, who was walking along the road with his friends, allegedly grabbed her behind while she was directing motorists using the highway.

The incident left members of the public, who were witnessing the scene, in fits of laughter while also questioning the motives behind Mule's actions as he walked away from the officer's location.

The officer's colleagues were determined not to let Mule escape, and they pursued and apprehended him for further investigation.

However, during the proceedings before Makadara Chief Magistrate Francis Kyambia, Mule could not offer any explanation for his heinous act.

He vehemently denied the allegations, leading to his release on a bond of Sh100,000. Alternatively, he was granted a cash bail of Sh80,000, with the option of posting a bond of Sh100,000.

The case is scheduled to be heard on January 24, 2024.
