Kenyans react to Brian Chira's sudden death

The tragic death of popular TikToker Brian Chira has sparked a wave of reactions across Kenya.

Chira died in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning on the Ndenderu-Ruaka road, according to a police report.

He was on his way home after a night out and had been expelled from a local joint for causing a disturbance.

His body was later taken to City Mortuary, and police are currently searching for the driver involved.

The news of Chira's untimely death has sparked a wide array of responses from the public.

Ohta Ryota expressed outrage at the lack of ethical behavior, criticizing those who shared images of Chira's body online: "So some MFs went to City Mortuary and took photos of Brian Chira's body on the slab and shared it on social media...why don't we have ethics in this country? What is this addiction we have to traumatic images, stories and scenes? Why can we not just behave like normal people?”

Reflecting on the nature of friendship and fame, Omosh commented, "The worst thing about Brian Chira's death is that he had no real friends. The people he thought were his friends were using him for fame and clout."

Brian Mutiga recalled Chira's talent and potential saying, "Brian Chira was two classes behind me at Nkubu High School. Man was so talented that the drama teacher noticed him the first day he was behind admitted in form one. That year, he played a major role in our drama team & they reached the national level, something they had kept trying for years. When I first saw him trending on social media, I wondered what took him that long. The boy was talented & his star was shining every day.”

Wyclef Bwaaza touched on the dangers of alcohol, stating, "Alcohol reduces your vigilance, accuracy but significantly lengthen your reaction time, while impairing your short term memory."

Juma G highlighted the reality of modern friendships: "Nowadays, when you die, there r 2 kinds of friends; those who will come to "make content over your body" and those who will come so that reality can dawn on them that you are finally gone. Look at the "friends" of Brian Chira, each rushing to the Mortuary to make content.”

Mihr Thakar advised caution, especially regarding alcohol consumption: "As much as we talk about not drinking and driving, you should be equally cautious about crossing the road when inebriated."
