Will it be Karim Mandonga again for the second time in the ring?

It is that moment again; Daniel Wanyonyi versus Karim 'Mtu Kazi’ Mandonga.

The first bout lived up to all expectations. It was a boxing night to remember for Tanzanian man Mandonga and one to quickly forget for Kenyan Wanyonyi.

Mandonga won in a night where thousands of Kenyans were behind Wanyonyi. And once again, Karim’ Mtu Kazi’ Mandonga is promising his fans yet another victory in the ring against his rival, on Saturday, in Nairobi.

The showboating pugilist said Wanyonyi will have nowhere to run during their 10-round light heavyweight duel that will be held at the Sarit Expo Centre. The fight is promoted by Maurice Odera of Ultra Fight Series Promotion.

The bout will be televised live by Standard Group Limited's through its KTN Home brand.

“I have prepared well; my home work is on point. I’m very fit. We have to defeat Wanyonyi whether he likes it or not,” Mandonga told Standard Sports.

“The last time we fought, I finished him with a ‘Sungunyo’ jab from Ukraine, this time, I’ll clear him with a ‘Kinguki’ blow from Russia. Kinguki is very offensive, it neither retreat nor surrenders,” said the Tanzanian, who is already in the country for the fight.

The Tanzanian pugilist said he doesn’t care how well Wanyonyi, who is a former African Boxing Union champion, has prepared for the duel.

"What I know is that he is going to have a torrid day in the ring, what I don’t know is whether the fight will end in the first round or second round, or whether I’ll finish him with a knock out,” he said.

In response, Wanyonyi said Mandonga is not going to last beyond the third round as he has prepared for him a special jab called ‘Dusla’, which will literally get him ‘drunk.’

“Dusla is a blow, which is not been recommended by a doctor,” Wanyonyi warned. “But I’m going to unleash it on him in raw form. Mandonga will see stars.”

Mandonga dismissed Wanyonyi's sentiments, saying he won't be able neutralise his blows.

While promising his legion of fans a win on Saturday night, Mandonga said.

“The victory is ours, I will not to let you down, if I lose then that’s sportsmanship.”

Wanyonyi lost to Mandonga on Technical Knock Out (TKO) in the fifth round at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi on January 14.

Since then, he has been stepping up his game at Pal Pal Gymnasium in Gikomba, ahead of the expected rematch at the weekend.

In his latest fight, Wanyonyi floored Charles Kakande of Uganda on TKO on March 25 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, the same night Mandonga also overcame Lucky Yamuzi, also from Uganda.

Advance general tickets are going for Sh1,000, while the ringside/VIP seats will cost Sh5,500.

At the gate, regular tickets will go for Sh1500, while those for VIP will be Sh7,500.
