Mr. Chris Otundo is a seasoned business executive with over 15 years of experience largely in talent management. He has held several leadership positions over the years including his present role as CEO BrighterMonday Kenya. His previous roles have included leadership roles at Mastercard Foundation, Safaricom and General Electric, overseeing strategic talent acquisition across Sub-Saharan Africa and Canada. Mr. Otundo holds a Masters Degree in International Management (International Business) from Toulouse School of Management (France) and a BSc. in Business Information Technology from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (Malaysia). He is also an Executive Coach accredited by the Academy of Executive Coaches UK.

Ms. Leonie Von Elverfeldt has over 15 years of experience in media and advertising and has coached 50+ media brands around the world in audience and revenue growth. She is currently a consultant and coach at Elverfeldt Consulting where she works with wellknown legacy media brands on digitization, newsroom transformation, revenue schemes and rebranding. Ms. Elverfeldt is credited with developing and managing the first paywall in Germany (BILD/ Axel Springer) and founded a media company in East Africa (Pulse/Ringier). She holds an MBA from Technische University in Berlin, Germany.

Mr. Achola is a Partner, Portfolio Operations at Centum and currently oversees implementation of value creation plans in portfolio companies including sitting in several of their Boards as an Alternate Director to Centum Investment Company PLC. He joined Centum from Kenya Airways PLC where he was Director Strategy and Performance Management and had been with the Airline for over 13 years in various other senior management positions including in Information technology, Operations Control, Cargo Operations, JamboJet Airline, Human Resource and Commercial. Prior to that he worked with Uchumi Supermarkets as the Head of IT and Strategy Implementation. He holds a Master’s degree in Business and Administration (MBA) majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nairobi and an MBA in General Management from Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE) in Spain. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi. Mr. Achola is a Certified Information System Auditor and a graduate of Executive Development Programs from Gordon Institute of Business Science-University of Pretoria, General Electric, Rolls-Royce and London Business School.

Mr. Sigei is a seasoned Senior Executive with more than 25 years’ experience in business advisory and manufacturing sectors, including being Chief Executive Officer in three Countries across Africa. He has recently been appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Pretoria Portland Cement - Zimbabwe, effective 1st January 2024. This follows a stint as the founding Managing Partner of STARTIFY Ltd, an Africa-focused business advisory firm focused on restructuring, turnaround and M&A transactions.

He brings on board a multi-disciplinary background with a mix of skills including General Management, Business Development, Restructuring & Turnaround, M&A, Finance and Risk Management. He has wide Board experience having served as Executive and Independent Director for various Companies. He is currently on the Board of Angaza Centre for Technology Literacy as a Non-Executive Director

Mr. Sigei holds a First-Class Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi, is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and graduated in leadership courses offered by Ivy league Business Schools - INSEAD, London Business School, HEC Paris and The Ivey Business School at Western University.

Ms. Muthui is a Director at Alpha Tax & Business Advisory Services Limited and has over 20 years of tax & business advisory experience where she works with organizations to implement and execute corporate tax strategies and other stakeholders in reviewing tax legislation in Kenya and East Africa. Previously, she worked as a Tax Manager at Coca- Cola Central East and West Africa (CEWA) and KPMG.

Ms. Muthui is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K). She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Nairobi, an MBA for Executives from Strathmore Business School and is currently pursuing a PHD in Commercial Law - Taxation at the University of Cape-Town. She is also an accredited trainer.

She is a member of the Public and Tax Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a former member of the Tax Committee of the Law Society of Kenya. She also served as a Board Trustee and currently sits as an External Committee member of the Centre of Tax Studies in Africa - IBFD.

Ms. Rotich is an entrepreneur, consultant and advisor. She was previously Executive Director at BRCK.org, a position she has held since February 2016 and a Director at BRCK Inc. since October 2013. She was a Co-Founder and CEO at Ushahidi Inc. in Chicago and Kenya in the years 2011 to 2015. She has also held various positions as Program Director, Data Analyst, and Consultant at several high technology companies. She holds a degree in Computer Science from University of Missouri, Kansas City, is a Sr. TED Fellow, MIT Media Lab Director's Fellow and has a wealth of experience in the IT industry spanning over 15 years.

Mr. Kulei is an Executive Director at the Sian Roses Group of Farms where he also sits in the Marketing and Operations Committee. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Chemusian Farm, Liasion Group Limited and the Kenya Flower Council. Mr. Kulei has experience in a broad spectrum of fields and has a passion for agriculture having worked in one of Kenya’s signature industries for the past decade. He holds a Master’s degree in International Politics and Economics from Kingston University (UK) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Hult International School, London. He has a wealth of experience in agriculture, marketing, strategic analysis, partnership, leadership and technology having worked in the agriculture and insurance industries in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. He travels, plays rugby, squash and football for fun.

Mr. Chaacha, has over 20 years of extensive local and international experience in leadership, communication and policy engagement, Mr. Chaacha has a strong foundation in journalism. He has made significant contributions to enhancing editorial capacity in newsrooms across Africa, focusing on media sustainability, business model selection and specialisation.

His professional background includes conducting comprehensive media assessments in several African countries, including Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, eSwatini, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda. His leadership roles have included positions at reputable organisations such as the Standard Group PLCwhere he has previously served as Editorial Director and recently in the Board-as well as the Nation Media Group, Aga Khan Foundation, African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) and Thomson Foundation (London, UK).

Beyond corporate responsibilities, Mr. Chaacha has also made significant contributions to international panels such as the Africa Means Business Advisory Panel under Thomson Foundation (UK) working closely with esteemed institutions like Oxford University’s Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE), the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Strathmore Business School (SBS), and the University of Ghana (Accra).

Academically, Mr. Chaacha holds Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi’s School of Journalism, and an MBA from the University of St Gallen, Switzerland. He has also participated in executive development programmes at the Haas School of Business (University of California at Berkeley, USA) and the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg.

Beyond his professional accolades, Chaacha is a published author and a former Fanning Fellow for Journalism at the Kettering Foundation, Dayton, Ohio, USA. He has undertaken consultancies for prestigious organisations such as Internews and UNICEF, contributing his expertise to projects spanning media development, social budgeting guidelines and developing parliamentary training materials.

Ms. Janmohamed was appointed a Non- Executive Director in July 2007. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Barrister at Lincolns Inn (UK) with over twenty (20) years legal practice experience. She is a partner at Archer & Wilcock Advocates.

Dr. Mcfie was appointed a Non- Executive Director in July 2007. He is a holder of a PhD. from the Graduate School of Business, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and is currently a Senior Lecturer at Strathmore Business School with over forty (40) years lecturing experience. He has also previously served as a Director of the Capital Markets Authority and a member of the Value Added Tax Tribunal of Kenya.

He has over 20 years’ experience in television broadcast management and joined the Company in 2013. Previously, he worked with the Nation Media Group (NMG) as General Manager NTV-Uganda and CNBC Africa. He is a graduate of the IESE Business School’s Advanced Management Programme in Media & Entertainment.

He also holds an Executive MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University and a Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, from the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Kipngetich is the Regional Chief Executive Officer of Jubilee Holdings. Previously, Dr. Kipngetich served as Chief Executive Officer of Uchumi Supermarket and Chief Operating Officer of Equity Group Holdings Limited. He had an illustrious career as Director and CEO of Kenya Wildlife Service betweenDecember 2004 and September 2012. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Commerce degree from University of Nairobi.

Ms. Gathoga Mwangi is an accomplished Senior Executive with over 26 years of local and international experience in Commercial, Operations Excellence and General Management in multiple sectors.

She has held Executive roles with The Linde Group PLC companies, African Oxygen Pty (AFROX) and BOC Kenya PLC as Healthcare Director leading the access to Medical Gases in Africa, Business Unit Director of the Bulk and Onsite manufacturing Business in South Africa and Managing Director respectively. The Linde Group PLC is a leading global industrial gases and engineering solutions company on the New York Stock Exchange. Ms. Gathoga-Mwangi has previously held senior leadership positions including Country Director at Cadbury Kenya and East Africa Limited, General Manager at Unga Limited Plc (Seaboard Corporation) and Country Director, Parmalat Botswana Pty in Gaborone, Botswana. Ms. Gathoga-Mwangi also had a long and distinguished career with Bayer East Africa.

She serves as a Non-Executive Director at leading companies including BAT Kenya PLC, BOC Kenya PLC and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM).

Ms. Gathoga-Mwangi holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) Degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University (USIU) Kenya. She a Continuous Improvement (KAIZEN) practitioner and has led successful corporate turnarounds with this expertise. She is a part time Academic Director of the Women in Leadership program at Strathmore Business School (SBS).

Ms. Laila Denise Cherobon is a seasoned business strategist and operations leader with over a decade of experience driving corporate strategy, revenue growth, and media innovation across Africa. She has successfully led digital transformation, business development and product development initiatives as Chief Strategy Officer at The Standard Group PLC and sits on the Advisory Board of the International News Media Association (INMA), where she champions collaboration, innovation, and best-practice sharing across African media houses.

Laila holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management, University of Sunderland (UK) a Higher National Diploma (Distinction), and certifications in Project and Strategic Management, and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in Public Policy Management at Strathmore Business School. Known for her visionary leadership, strategic foresight, and results-driven approach, Laila brings a global perspective and a proven track record of delivering measurable impact. Mr. Edward Mwasi is a distinguished Media Strategy and Innovation Consultant whose career spans three decades across publishing, design, governance, and digital transformation. He currently serves as a Media Strategy and Innovation Consultant at the Center for Business Innovation & Training (CBiT). Previously, he served as the CEO, Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board (KYEB). Edward began his career in the creative sector, serving as a Creative Director at an advertising agency before joining the Nation Media Group, where he rose to become Chief Graphic Designer. Beyond media, Edward has been instrumental in strengthening governance structures across Kenya where he has trained Board and Commission Secretariats on applying technology to improve workplace efficiency, decision-making, and service delivery.

Edward is a graduate of the University of Nairobi’s Faculty of Architecture, Design and Development, and his foundation in design is complemented by significant training in management, governance, and institutional transformation

Dr. Lusiola will bring to the Board extensive global business and leadership experience as well as best practice around process improvement. He is the current Chief Executive Officer and Director-General of the Kenya BioVax Institute since 2022. His leadership extends to corporate strategy formulation, team management, board matters, and external stakeholder engagement.

His experience also spans clinical pharmacy, with a focus on medicines information, clinical trials, and intensive care during his tenure at the Royal Liverpool NHS Trust in the UK.

Dr. Lusiola is well-credentialed, holding qualifications from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, the University of Reading, and the University of Nairobi. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Royal Society of Medicine and the Project Management Institute.
