A boda boda rider was on Wednesday night killed over Sh50, that he asked to be paid after he dropped a customer home.
Evans Wafula had ferried a woman from Mutambo to her home in Mugweiyot when he requested to be paid Sh50.
The woman’s husband is said to have attacked Wafula with a panga leaving him with serious injuries on the head.
Mabonde location chief Mrs Judith Kundu said the deceased had dropped the woman at her home and requested to be paid when the woman’s husband attacked him.
Mrs Kundu said after the incident, Wafula was rushed by his colleagues to a local clinic where he was attended to and advised her to seek specialized medication.

“The information I have is that the rider had dropped the woman and requested to be paid Sh50 but the woman’s husband attacked him with a panga. He was rushed to a local clinic where first aid was administered and asked to seek special treatment at the district hospital,” said the administrator.
Wafula’s alleged attacker is at large after he was alerted that Wafula had succumbed to the injuries.
"He disappeared after he was informed that Wafula had succumbed to the injuries, but we have launched a manhunt to arrest him," the chief said.
Police have moved the body to Kitale county morgue.
