Man claiming to be officer nabbed in Ikolomani

Police in Ikolomani are holding a man found with a revolver and five rounds of ammunition yesterday evening.

Police said they arrested the man following a tip off from the public. They said they were informed that a middle-aged man suspected to be carrying a gun, had boarded a public service vehicle in Kakamega.

“We erected a roadblock. We arrested him in Khayega. He was en-route to Kisumu. At first he resisted arrest, but we managed to arrest him without causing harm to other passengers,” said Andrew Ong’ele, Kakamega South AP commander.

Gregory Busolo claimed he is a serving police officer stationed at Likoni.

“We will continue to hold him until we ascertain whether he is an officer or an impostor,” he said.
