Kitale, Kenya: Leaders have called for a crackdown on sex pests to tame increasing cases of child molestation and school girl rape.
Led by Woman Rep Janet Nangabo, the leaders expressed disappointment with the rising cases of defilement and demanded that the culprits be brought to book.
Speaking in Bidii village during the burial of a local teacher, Nanjala Simiyu, the MP urged chiefs and police to pursue sex pests to ensure justice for the victims.
According to the Justice and Peace Centre, Kitale, three cases of defilement are reported every week.
The last incident happened over the weekend when a pastor defiled his 13-year-old sister in-law on Meru Farm in Kitale.

The clergyman has since been arrested.
