Voi police officers captured on CCTV entering into a girls hostel and attacking students

In an exclusive CCTV footage obtained by Standard shows Voi Police officers entering into a girls hostel in Sofia village Voi before they started attacking the students while forcing them to crawl on a wet floor as they beat them. Taita Taveta County Police Commander Mr. Francis Sang via phone call has denied the allegations, saying during the police operation with Students of Coast Institute of Technology there was no serious engagement but police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrating students. He added by saying anyone with such a complaint should lodge a complaint at the police station for actions. This comes after two days of battle between Coast Institute Of Technology students and police in the streets as the students demand the dismissal of the principal and his deputy. The institution now remains closed until further notice.
