''My husband and I have lived with HIV for 20 years'' MCA recounts

Uasin Gishu County Nominated MCA Mary Boroswa realized that she and her husband were HIV positive 20 years ago.

She then decided to advocate for people living with HIV and educating the community on how to protect themselves against infection.

She has never shied from telling people that she has HIV and uses her life as an example to others living with the virus to encourage them that being HIV positive is not a death sentence.

Being an advocate for people living with HIV, Mary says the government has failed to ensure such people are supported protected and empowered in society.

She also says that the government has focused more on other diseases and left out HIV/AIDS which is still a major challenge in the country
