Drama as matatu operators defy Governor Lee Kinyanjui, force their way into Nakuru CBD
Matatu operators have forced their way back into Nakuru town. They had been kicked out by Governor Lee Kinyanjui in March this year. The move was aimed at decongesting the town amid the Covid-19 pandemic. On Saturday morning they forced their way back to town. Attempts by police to kick them out were futile. They based their return on a motion passed by the Nakuru County Assembly on Wednesday recommending Kinyanjui to allow two matatus per sacco back to town. Kinyanjui is yet to give the recommendations a nod.
