R Kelly seeks release from jail over the coronavirus outbreak

Singer R Kelly has appealed to be released from jail for fear of contracting COVID-19.

Through his lawyer, Steven Greenberg, R. Kelly who is being held at Illinois filed a plea on Thursday, March 26

In a report by TMZ, his attorney filed a motion in which he talked about coronavirus spreading around the world, and the health risks he believed his client was facing while penned up in Chicago MCC.

According to the Greenberg, it did not matter the steps the prison took to ensure proper sanitation, claiming it would still be substandard and the risk of the virus spreading in there was great

R Kelly claims social distancing was impossible in jail siting that soap was only available to inmates who could afford to buy it.

In addition, Kelly points out that sanitizers were not available and there was only one in the visiting floor which had been labeled for use by the staff only

He pleaded to be released on bond saying he was willing to wear electronic monitoring.

As for where he will live, Kelly says he go to live with his last remaining girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage at an apartment complex in Chicago.
