Messi scores injury-time penalty to save Argentina's blushes against Uruguay

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi scored a late penalty as Argentina salvaged a 2-2 draw in an international friendly against Uruguay in Tel Aviv, Israel on Monday, November 18.

PSG striker Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock at the 34th minute, before Manchester City's hitman Sergio Aguero equalised in the 63rd minute. Luiz Suarez put Uruguay in front again shortly after (68th minute) only for them to be pegged back by an injury-time penalty cooly slotted home by five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi

Afterwards Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni said that he had not decided who would regularly partner with Messi up front in the future, but that whatever team he puts out, it would play offensively.

Meanwhile, legendary Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez said that FIFA friendly dates were always important to them, especially when playing against such a high-class rival.
