Sonko bows to KOT pressure, replaces substandard lion statue with a new, well polished one

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has bowed to pressure from Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) and replaced a ‘hideous’ lion statue erected at the city centre.

The lion that had attracted the wrath of social media users as an embarrassment to the city and art has been replaced with a well-polished, life-like, gold -coated figure befitting the king of the jungle.

It all started after former Capital FM presenter Laura Walubengo posted its photo on her twitter page and awakened different reactions from Kenyans.

Many shared hilarious responses posting that the welcoming piece was a far cry from the actual beast and a failed attempt in the beautification of the city.

Others angered by the statue, wanted it pulled down as a joke gone too far and that the county could do better and that’s exactly what they did.
