Glorification of money has reached alarming levels in Kenya
By Veronica Onjoro | Updated Oct 22, 2016 at 09:56 EAT

In Kenya today there are many programmes and advertisements in the media that glorify money. Betting companies have emerged and are offering prizes of more than Sh20 million and hardly a month passes before we hear that a university student has taken his life because of losing money through betting.

The glorification of money has reached alarming levels. This makes the society and children desire to get rich through whatever means forcing some to engage in corruption and other illegal acts. Let the government rein in on these programmes which teach the society that the only way to be rich is not to work hard but to bet. ls this a gambling country? Are we running a gambling economy?
