SUMMARY

The senate majority leader, who was present at the handing over ceremony of the report, took to social media to highlight the reasons why he now supports the initiative.

Murkomen, who alongside politicians allied to the Tanga Tanga faction of the Jubilee party had been on the forefront to downplay BBI before the report was released.

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, shook the internet after he expressed his support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The senate majority leader, who was present at the handing over ceremony of the report, took to social media to highlight the reasons why he now supports the initiative.

Murkomen, who alongside politicians allied to the Tanga Tanga faction of the Jubilee party, had been on the forefront to downplay BBI before the report was released.

The feeling among these members of parliament was, however, diluted when Deputy President William Ruto earlier expressed willingness to read the report before making a verdict on whether or not to support it.

The senator explained his reasons for the support to include:

1. Its Presidents own report and largely reflects the views of Jubilee.

2. Doesn’t require a referendum we’ll sort in Parliament.

3.Subject to further discussion and review.

4.contrary to earlier threats doesn’t amount to a Tsunami.
