Eric Omondi, Mammito in trouble for wearing Scout uniform

The Kenya Scouts Association on Friday, November 22, 2019, sent out a strong warning on who and where the Scout uniform can be worn.

Through a media press statement published by the Daily Nation newspaper, the association used Comedians Eric Omondi and Mammito Eunice to stamp their warning.

This, they did by asking the comedians to pull down images and apologise for appearing with Scouts’ uniforms without consent and as non-registered members.

“We call upon the pictured artists (Eric Omondi, Mammito and one more), who are great young leaders and role models in our country, and also in the interest of their brothers, sisters, and fans to apologise (on-line) and pull down the images and related footage” read the statement.

They explained that the comedians used their uniforms to paint a bad picture of the organization by appearing with guns and stated that scouts are known to solve disputes using peaceful methods.

The association further stated that the Uniform is a ceremonial gear and should not be worn for undue physical activities.

“The scout uniform is a ceremonial gear for official functions and is not to be used for undue physical activities such as mud run, swimming, assault cases etcetera as portrayed in the photo” added the statement.

The two comedians are yet to apologise for their actions.
