Man who served 15-year jail sentence defiles one-and-a-half-year-old daughter

A 50-year-old ex-convict was on Sunday, 29 September 2019, arrested for allegedly defiling his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

The man, who is said to have been in hiding since Friday, when he allegedly committed the crime, recently completed serving his 15-year jail sentence.

Nyamira North Police boss Timothy Muasya said that they were alerted by members of Nyumba Kumi after they noticed him trying to sneak back into his house.

The man’s wife (who is 19 years old) reported to the police that she had left the baby in the company of her father and on returning, found him washing the baby’s private parts.

It was then that she rushed the baby to a hospital where doctors ascertained that the baby had been defiled.

Nyamira county commissioner confirmed that the man had recently been released after serving a 15-year jail term.

The suspect was locked up at the Ekerenyo police station and is to be arraigned in court today.

The offense he was found guilty of committing the first time is yet to be disclosed.
