Oracle appoints David Bunei as Managing Director for Kenya

NAIROBI, KENYA: Oracle has announced the appointment of David Bunei as Managing Director of Kenya operations. 

The organization said Bunei will be responsible for helping Kenyan public and private sector organisations achieve strategic objectives by driving digital transformation with Oracle Cloud. 

 With more than two decades’ experience in the IT and Telecommunications sector, Bungei has held several leadership roles with leading organisations.

Prior to joining Oracle, Bunei was General Manager at Cisco Systems, responsible for business in East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands for almost four years, from September 2015. This position followed other leadership roles at the organisation, in technical and sales management.

 Andrew Sordam, Vice President & Regional Managing Director Africa at Oracle lauded Bungei’s appointment terming him a strong fit for Oracle.

“He has demonstrated the same shared commitment to Kenya, as well as a focus on placing customer needs first. We are confident that under his leadership, Oracle will fortify its reputation as a digital business solutions vendor of choice,” he said.

 Kenya is one of 10 African nations where Oracle has dedicated offices to serve the local business community. Other countries are Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Mauritius and Senegal. Oracle’s presence on the African continent dates back 30 years.
