A female MP who has been in the eye of one controversy after another has resorted to seek help of a witchdoctor from Tanzania.

Word reaching the Grapevine has it that the legislator recently visited a famed black magic master in the neighbouring country with two prayers of protection at the workplace as well as marriage restoration.

The lawmaker’s colleagues find her confrontational and litigious, attributes perceived as “gross” for soft demeanour expected of ladies from the MP’s community.

Meanwhile, an MP from Western Kenya is living in fear after word went round that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations could soon pounce on him over fraudulent mileage claims.

Commissioner roots for caning in schools

A County Commissioner in Central region is on the spot for instructing top education ministry officials and teachers during a recent high-level meeting to reintroduce caning in schools.

Caning was banned in schools. But the government official, known for excessive force and bulldozing, shocked hundreds of teachers and a senior ministry staff when he said that children must be caned.

The official said he is who he is because of the cane and warned education officers and teachers not to pamper learners anymore.

The commissioner is also said to have dressed down Knut and Kuppet officials at the meeting, telling them off over their demands.

Sources at the meeting said regional education officials are now tongue-tied how to enforce the ban on caning now that the County Commissioner has strongly advocated for it.

Ministry officials are also complaining that the commissioner, accused by his staff of high handedness, has strained relationship between them and unions.
