Besieged MP pays the price for attacking leader

News
His former rivals for the parliamentary seats combined forces with area MCAs to cut him down to size.

An MP who has been a vocal opponent of an influential politician is finding the going rough in his backyard.

This is after his former rivals for the parliamentary seats combined forces with area MCAs to cut him down to size.

For months now, the opponents of the first term legislator have sustained a fierce campaign against the MP, and have taken advantage of his absence to discredit him at every public function.

Most of the time, the popular lawmaker is outside the constituency as he is part of the team that is waging a war against the popular leader.

They argue that the man who was elected to office has neglected his constituency and is instead concentrating on issues that add no value to them.

Elsewhere, Ward Representatives from a county in Nyanza seem to be determined to ensure that the skeletons in their closets are not exposed.

This is if their move to block members of the fourth estate from accessing their chamber and committee meeting is anything to go by.

For weeks, journalists covering the assembly have been forced to get the express approval of the Clerk or Speaker before they are allowed into the precincts of the house.

The MCAs are understood to have gotten tired of a string of exposes done by the journalists.

The articles which, they said, painted them in bad light have jolted them into starting a ‘cold war’ with the journalists.

It will be interesting to see who will blink first!
