Chelsea coach Sarri makes shock quitting admission

Has Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri set the ball rolling for an impending exit?

Well, this could be the case following reports the Italian is unhappy at the club’s hierarchy for judging him purely on the outcome of the Europa League final.

Chelsea have only one game left this season, a European final against London neighbours Arsenal, whom Sarri knows can hurt his team, considering the fact the Blues have not been up to par this season.

According to a piece published on UK news outlet Mirror on Thursday, and angry Sarri allegedly told his employers to sack him immediately, if his work throughout the season will be judged by one match.

“No, if the situation is like this I want to go immediately. You cannot... 10 months of work, and then I have to play everything in 90 minutes? It's not right. It's not the right way. You're either happy about my work or you're not happy,” said Sarri.

This audacious message by Sarri could mean two things: That he’s fed up with how the club is being run or he’s trying to push his exit – possibly to join another club.

Chelsea have been highly linked with former midfielder Frank Lampard, who is rumoured to be the top candidate to replace Sarri at Stamford Bridge should he leave.

Sarri, however, has two years left on his contract and could prove his worth if he beats Unai Emery’s men in Baku on May 29.
