It comes after Tono inked a new deal with Levante on Wednesday
He signed a contract extension until the end of the 2022-23 campaign
Levante defender Tono Garcia has been arrested and is being held by police "without bail" in Spain.
The 29-year-old is one of seven suspects arrested for alleged extortion and threats, among other charges.
According to reports in Spain, Garcia is suspected of alleged involvement in seven crimes, including belonging to a criminal group, extortion, death threats, falsification of documents and money laundering.
Five of the suspects have already appeared in court while two others have been summoned.
The case is still being investigated and the judge has ruled the trial will be kept secret.
The third Examining Magistrate of Teruel ruled that all seven individuals should face a custodial sentence, leading to a statement from the player's club, expressing their surprise.
Given that judicial proceedings are subject to secrecy, the club, without any prejudice, will show our support to the player and his family," a statement from Levante said.
"We are unaware of the circumstances that led the investigating judge to take such action.
"The player deserves respect in this difficult moment and is presumed innocent until found guilty.
"Until there is any more news or facts about his detention, we will not make any more public statements about this situation."
It comes after Tono inked a new deal with Levante on Wednesday.
He signed a contract extension until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Tono joined Levante in 2014 after stints with Recreativo, Villarreal B, Castellon and Saguntino and has made 102 appearances for the club.
