Ex-State officer gets emotional after being cornered over her academic papers

A former commissioner with one of the country’s constitutional bodies yesterday got emotional when an MP questioned her academic qualifications.

The legislator took the former officer step-by-step about her education background, starting with her highest qualification of Masters to Higher Diploma.

It emerged during the grilling that the officer did not have Bachelor’s Degree but a Higher Diploma before pursuing an MBA program.

It was at this point when the MP claimed that the officer could have had difficulties in grasping policy matters at the commission, that she got emotional and asked the committee chairman to protect her from “irrelevant questioning”.
