Video of drunk schoolgirl captures Chipukeezy's attention

NACADA Director Vincent Mwasia aka Chipukeezy has promised to step in and mentor the schoolgirl who was seen drunk in a video that did rounds on social media.

Chipukeezy further revealed that he was in the process of getting in touch with the family and the girl should not be subjected to condemnation.

“As Nacada Director, I will offer mentorship for this girl. Process to get in touch with family and school has begun.

“The girl deserves mentorship and inspiration and not condemnation. That is why I hold office.

“Some things are about humanity, not money.” he said.

The video of the minor surfaced this week and was widely shared on WhatsApp groups.

In the video, the girl who is in uniform explains that she is drunk because her mum often comes home drunk.

“Mimi niko tei juu mama yangu pia anatei, so mimi nafanya kama mum, yeye hukuja kama ametei sasa mimi pia nafanya kama yeye. Nimepewa tei na beshte yangu…”

Comedian YY also commented on the matter and urged parents to be more responsible.

“This is my take, whether you have achieved your independence as an adult, do the right thing at the Right place and time... Let’s learn to live life for others too...Children borrow from what they are used to.

That's why we have different ACCENTS depending on where a child is brought up... I can't speak a language that I wasn't taught.”

He added: “PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS KEY...Children don't forget what they see during their time,...and the same way they will remember What They are Told repeatedly...PROTECT THE CHILDREN FROM SOME THINGS!!!"
