President Uhuru clears Sh40 chewing gums debt

President Uhuru Kenyatta has cleared Sh40 debt that he owed Dennis Muchiri Wachira for chewing gums offered to him during 2017 political campaigns.

Wachira, who is a hawker has since been demanding for the payments for the two chewing gums.

However, on Friday, the 22-year-old hawker got an opportunity after Karanja Kibicho, Interior Principal Secretary invited him to Harambee House over the debt.

The interior PS held a brief meeting with Wachira where he cleared the small debt on behalf of the President.

The meeting was recorded on camera by PS’s media team.

Ps Kibicho held talks with the hawker before issuing him with a Sh50 note and asking for a Sh10 bob change which the hawker willingly gave.

Wachira requested President Uhuru to give him a meaningful employment since he was the only bread winner for his family.

“I’ve wanted to meet the President since that first encounter so that I can tell him my problems. We are four in our family and I’m the soul bread winner. I need a good job to cater for my family’s needs,” he told Kibicho.

Wachira had earlier on requested Uhuru to pay him the Sh40 only.

“I don’t need a job from the President. There a no jobs in Kenya for the youth. I’m only demanding my Sh40 which the President owes me,” he said.

We are waiting to see if his pleas will be considered.
