Rongo University students turn Sharon Otieno’s burial chaotic

The funeral service of Sharon Otieno was disrupted by Rongo University students who were demanding justice for their comrade.

All seemed calm until the University students went to her coffin chanting ‘rest in power’ disrupting the area MP Peter Kaluma who was making his speech.

The area MP Mr. Peter Kaluma, who is also the family’s lawyer and was speaking at the time of the student’s arrival, paused the service in order to allow them to grieve.

Led by their student leader Evans Baraza, the learners demanded the culprits in the murder be brought to book.

"Sharon did not have to die in such a brutal manner, " he said.

Sharon’s mother Melida Auma fainted after being overwhelmed by emotion as the body arrived. Her father, on the other hand, appeared calm.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado who is the prime suspect in the murder of Sharon Otieno is in police custody until October 24 when the High Court will give a ruling on his bail application.
