A 22-years-old man from Colombia shocked the world after cutting half of his nose, ears and splitting his tongue into two so that his face can look like a skull.

He had the lower half of his nose removed, shaded his eyes with ink around them and tattooed his split tongue in blue-grey ink.

Kalaca skull, real name Erick Yeiner is a tattoo artist and has undergone an extremely dangerous and expensive surgical procedure for the past two years to achieve his desired look.

He says he’d always been curious and fascinated by the human skull since childhood but couldn’t tattoo himself because his mother was against it.

He started his quest to have a skull face after his mother died two years ago.

Although he has received a lot of criticism for his extreme look, he wants to continue with the procedure.

The tattoo artist said the reason behind the daring move is because he likes looking different and it’s the only thing we share underneath our skins and in death.

He added that, 'body modifications are a personal decision and should not be judged’.
