High five to these young NTSA men

One would belittle the presence of those people who stand across the traffic road. Yes, those that make sure that we the pedestrians get our way out through the highways. I work along Mombasa road near Airtel Headquarters. If you have ever been there then you can now relate what I mean.

Every day, I look at those two young men. They are always passionate about what they do best. Can you imagine lifting that metallic signpost for about 6 hours? Whistling to cruel Mombasa road drivers to observe the road rules and stop for the pedestrians on a busy morning?

Today I was very angry. The NTSA guy did his part. Yes, the vehicles stopped and we were given the mandate to cross the road. Just before the end of Zebra crossing a reckless motorist ignored the rules. You can now imagine the commotion and everything. He had injured an old man who thought he was safe.

The motorists said, "Si nimekupigia honi." How on earth would he utter such words? The rules are clear when you told to stop, you stop no matter how fast you think you should be.

High five to these wonderful young NTSA men. They did the motorist justice. They just took his motorcycle keys and asked him to do what is required. I really do not know what is required according to them but far away I could see the old man was a little bit at peace.
