Kenyans joined the rest of East Africa in mourning popular singer and songwriter Mowzey

Mowzey passed on at Case Hospital, Kampala after being admitted 

Moses Ssekibogo, better known by his stage name ‘Mowzey Radio’ is dead.

The singer/songwriter died in Case Hospital, Kampala, where he had been admitted after being beaten at De Bar, a local joint in Entebbe, later falling into a coma.

According to an article published on the Daily Monitor on February 1st, events promoter Mr Balaam Barugahara confirmed that the singer died on Thursday at around 6 am.

"The management of Case Hospital regret to announce the passing of Moses Ssekibogo alias Moze Radio today 1st February 2018 at 6:00 am," read part of the hospital’s statement.

The Monitor also reports that Uganda President Yoweri Museveni had donated 30 million to cater for his treatment expenses.

“The management of Case Hospital acknowledges the payment of UGX 30,000,000 received from H.E The President of the Republic of Uganda @KagutaMuseveni. We are grateful for this generous deed of contributing to hospital bills for the amazingly talented Ugandan vocalist Radio,” the hospital continued in their statement.

Kenyans joined the rest of East Africa in mourning Mowzey, with some celebrities and leaders sending their condolences on social media.
