Alexis Sanchez to Man United deal is far from done - Agent Mino Raiola said
The Chilean is bent on moving to Man United but it all depends on whether Mkhitaryan moves to the Emirates
Premier League leaders Manchester City and last season’s champions Chelsea have both pulled out of the race to sign Chile and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
According to reports all over English outlets, Sanchez is close to completing a move to Jose Mourinho’s team, with Armenian Player of the year Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way.
However, Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola yesterday said that Mkhitaryan is not in a hurry to leave the Red Devils as he still has 2 and a half years left on his contract.
He also said that Sanchez is part of the Micki (Mkhitaryan) deal and not the other way round. It all depends on Mkhitaryan’s decision to leave or to stay.
“Sanchez is part of Mkhi’s deal. Not the other way around. Without him, Sanchez simply cannot go to United,” said Raiola.
It is now reported that the Armenian is holding the Gunners at ransom, demanding a huge pay rise if he is to leave Man United.
Both Sanchez and Mkhitaryan were left out of the matchday squads last week, fuelling more speculation about the imminent swap.
Arsenal could also sell Sanchez to Man United even if Mkhitaryan doesn’t move to the Emirates, The Sun reports.
“Mkhi’s problems at Man Utd are purely related to playing football. He has no problem with the manager. It is not personal,” added Raiola.
Sanchez is said to have dreamt of playing for Man United as a child and could see his dreams come true if the deal is completed.
Mkhitaryan is also looking to link up with Arsenal recruitment officer Sven Mislintat who he interacted with during his time in the Bundesliga playing for Borrusia Dortmund.
If the Alexis Sanchez deal to Man United is to happen, it all rests on Mino Raiola and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
