Sanchez to Man United deal could be hijacked

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez

League leaders Manchester City pulled out of the race as they felt they could not meet Sanchez's transfer fee

Even though Manchester City pulled out of the race for Sanchez, sending Man united fans into delirium, Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez could move to the Stamford Bridge as Chelsea plan to hijack the Red Devils’ bid for the man.

At the moment, Jose Mourinho leads the race to sign Sanchez, who is said to have dreamt about playing at Old Trafford since he was a kid.

The Chilean was linked with a move to the Citizen last year, with a deadline day resolution not to leave Arsenal seeing him stay at the Emirates until now.

Sanchez missed Arsenal’s Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth in order to push for a move away from the Emirates, according to reports.

According to English football news outlets, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have also entered the race to sign the forward.

Chelsea are in seemingly shaky form of late, drawing with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, drawing away to Norwich in the FA Cup and drawing to Leicester at home in the Premier League. With the stuttering form of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, Conte might be forced to get a striker in this month.

Reports also suggest that Sanchez is close to completing a move to man United, with Armenian Player of the year Henrikh Mkhitaryan set to move the other way.

“Not confident but also not... what is the opposite? Unconfident. Just relaxed. We have a feeling he is an Arsenal player, he can stay there but also a feeling he can move, and if he moves I think we have a chance. But most probably a player like him has other big clubs interested,” said Mourinho after the 3-0 win at home against Stoke City.

Mourinho also added that Mkhitaryan could move to the Emirates but insisted his omission from the squad that faced Stoke isn’t about the transfer market.

He said, “It’s also possible he stays. I didn’t select him because I wanted players fully focused and I understand that with so much talk and speculation it’s not easy for Mkhitaryan to play.”
