  • Engaging in intimacy builds a relationship by making it stronger.
  • It however comes with several health effects that one should keep in mind.
  • Although they are not health endangering, ignoring these small points could lead to bigger problems.

Engaging in sexual activities is part of almost every adult. Getting intimate with one’s partner is a major thing in any relationship and people do not shy away from taking part.

You are in a new relationship and you and your partner cannot keep hands off each other. You are at it in the morning, in the afternoon, in the bedroom and on the kitchen floor. While this is going to build the both of you positively, it is good to know some side effects that come with it.

You are engaging your body in an exercise that will lead to sweating hence water loss. If you spend more time at it without re-hydrating, chances are you will eventually suffer from dehydration. This is not critical but it is advisable not to ignore.

Burns and bruises

Although this does not happen to everyone, most people suffer the aftermath of rough sexual activities that arise from friction generated. This will always heal although the feeling will definitely cause you some discomfort.

Urinary Tract Infections can affect anyone. However, engaging in too much intercourse raises the possibility. You are advised to drink lots of water and pee before and after your sessions to reduce the risk.

Trouble climaxing

Indulging in too much sex in a short period of time may make you have trouble with getting excited. This is because your body is structured to need rest after each session during which it recovers. Taking adequate breaks and pacing yourself is therefore important.

Hair loss

Sexual intercourse increases the levels of Dihydro-testosterone (DHT) in the body. This hormone is known to lead to hair loss. DHT kills hair follicles and causes male pattern baldness. As much as it is not immediate, this effect may hit hard years down the line.

Injured nerves

Due to the numerous nerve endings and increased sensitivity of body parts involved in lovemaking, one may end up with pain in their parts. This follows the constant rubbing and direct stimulation of these parts.

Heart attack

If you have a history of heart problems as constant palpitations and gasps for breath, engaging in too much sexual intercourse may send you to a hospital bed. This is because the exercise that comes with it may be too hard for the heart to keep up.

While one is advised to engage in as much intercourse as you can, sometimes taking a break I’ll do you better. It is however not established just how much is too much; every individual has their own level.
