An infant's body was found dumped close to a bush on the Railway line in Trans Nzoia
A street boy found the body and alerted traders in a nearby market
A two-month-old baby was strangled and his body dumped in a bush on the railway line in Kitale.
The body of the baby boy was discovered by a street boy. It had a rope tied around the neck and wrapped in a khanga.
The street boy later alerted traders from a nearby market.
The traders later informed officers from Kitale Police Station who took the body away.
This came amid reports of increased cases of teenage pregnancy in the region.
"This is wrong and sinful. She should have left the baby at a hospital, a children's home or anywhere else instead of killing him," said Linda Wafula, a trader.
She attributed unwanted pregnancies to poverty.
