Growing up I wanted to be...

A scientist then that aspiration dimmed and in its place came the dream of becoming a pilot sprouted.

If my parents could have their way...

I would have joined the army according to my father’s wish but my mother did not envision the military for me.

Which college did you attend?

I attended University of Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg.

What did you major in?

I did not finish my course in journalism so I didn’t get to major. But I wanted to major in investigative journalism because I found it thrilling.

Classes I skipped...

I can’t really say it’s a specific unit I skipped. It depended on what I was doing at the moment outside school that earned me pocket change.

The worst lecturer was....

I hope this paper doesn’t reach SA. He was called Tomi Oshokoya.

Toughest unit....

Media Law.

Passing exams meant...

Cramming. I have a great ability to cram which is all I did for my exams.

Your best campus experience was?

Engaging cops in cat and mouse chase in Braamfontein and its surroundings for petty reasons.

Dating experience...

South African girls are very pretty but I wasn’t really dating because I had a girlfriend back in Kenya.

What did you hate about campus?

Being broke was tough because you had to stick to school meals. It was especially bad during the exam period.

If you could go back to college what would you do differently?

I really wish I could take up film studies.

To make some extra cash during campus meant... I used to draw or paint for people for a fee. Yes, I am a not only a performing artist but draw and paint as well.
