New Entrant complicates matters for ODM in the Nairobi Women Rep Contest

By Mwalimu Miruka Ongoro | April 15th 2017

She is soft spoken but articulate. Some feel that she is shy, but upon interacting with her, you discover a different personality. She is jovial, lively, but mostly displays a humble mien. The city lawyer says, hers is an issue oriented political endeavour. She feels that she can do better that the incumbent, Rachael Shebesh, who, she claims, disappeared immediately she won the seat in 2013, yet she has been earning a big salary with perks, from the taxpayer.

Madam Jane Matoke has complicated matters in the ODM brigade and the National Super Alliance(NASA), given that the party may have settled for the Adopt-Alight Co, Esther Passaris. It is now emerging that the learned friend is in the race, and is leaving nothing to chance in ensuring that she clinches the Orange ticket to view for the Nairobi Women Representative.

If she runs away with the ODM ticket, Matoke will have to square it out at the ballot with either Millicent Omanga or Rachael, of Jubilee Party, or whoever wins the nomination contest, among other candidates from other political parties. She is believed to be enjoying close ties with the party boss, Raila Odinga.
